So… Who is The Wandering Gypsy.

Who indeed?

That my friends is an ever evolving answer.  I have been, or done a number of different things in my short life. A Jack of many trades, perhaps master of none, save maybe one, or two. Of all the occupations I have endeavored in, I enjoyed most, grudgingly accepted  some, but truly loved only one.

Driving, is the one thing I absolutely long to do for the rest if my life.  Some may be surprised to know, I have a mistress, but suffice it to say… that is exactly what the open road is. Demanding of my time, attention, and spirit. For I suffer from an incurable illness, called wanderlust. Driving truck over the road serves to medicate, nourish, and assuage that particular ailment.  There is one person though, out there in the real world. My soul mate, a love unknown for many a year, yet finally found.  She is the one who sees my dreams through her own eyes, and supports me in ways I have never before experienced.  I am truly the luckiest man in the world, thank you My Love.

I am but a Small Town Mountain Boy, often called a Dreamer, who enjoys a little hobby , genealogy, and at times likes to write about anything.  Probably the one thing about me that stands out above all else is… my love of nature. I have a tendency to get a little spiritual, in a paganistic way, when I describe my adventures. That is simply the way I am, and probably always will be.

20140131_231300Besides all of that, I am a driver for John Christner Trucking. I drive a 75 foot long 80,000 pound rolling mass of metal, capable of causing unimaginable destruction, death, or worse… it demands my respect and full attention.  I am good at what I do, and thoroughly enjoy it.  The hum of tires on pavement and the growl of a powerful diesel engine is all the company I desire. OK so that’s really not true, I couldn’t survive without my audio books and satellite radio. Music is always good company, a companion for any mood.

Feel free to leave a comment or simply browse. I hope you find my articles entertaining and enjoyable. Remember when you’re out there on the road, and see one of us… give a little extra space, we’ll return the favor.

  1. Wooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooooo, he’s bbbbaaackkkkkk, big smiles you. I’ve been concerned and am very happy to know you’re well and scribbling again. 🙂

  2. Awesome to have you back! Cheryl told me last night and gave me the URL. Going through all your postings today. My only problem is, I keep hearing Willie Nelson singing ” On the road again” over and over in my head. Awesome site!

  3. Ditto what Cheryl said!
Drive safe (kind of silly to ask that, as I know you will, but big sister’s can’t help but advise/admonish/alert), and hopefully you’ll continue to enjoy the mesmerizing road Wee Bro.

P.S. In the last paragragh change out “your” for “you’re.”

  4. Hi there, thanks for the follow, I’m curious as to how you came across my blog?

    • I read a lot of blogs, and I believe you were linked on one of the ones in my reader. They recommended you with high regard. I also have a habit of reading random blogs, I’m kind of strange that way. But you would be amazed at the content that can be found, just blog hopping.

So I guess you have just become one of The Spikey’s, that small clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike
Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.
My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious.
In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.
Thanks again for your vote of confidence, and hope you have a great day…

I hope that you aren’t pissed about my remarks on my page regarding you and your blog…I truly admire your wisdom and support…my ONLY intention in giving your blog mention is to acknowledge a treasured human being of my personal blogosphere. No awards, okay – just appreciation.

    • No, not pissed at all. Been running some strange hours, not able to blog as much as usual. No worries girl, I appreciate all your comments, and I love your blog. You are to the point, and don’t mince words. Keep it up.
