About Wandering Gypsy Spirit

20140131_231300Welcome to my realm! I am an over the road truck driver. It is a life unlike anything most normal people would understand. I’m on the road for months at a time, only getting to the house once in a while. I tell everyone that my home is where ever I park my truck. Being out here on the open road all the time allows me to see some pretty amazing things.

I started this blog so I could share some of those sights, and stories with many of my friends, new and old. I have a tendency to write some very long and descriptive posts about nature, or things that I am passionate about. So you can expect to get a fairly complete sampling of articles covering nature, the trucking industry, regulations from the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and enforcement of those regulations. Of course there will be a regular posting of the troubles we deal with caused by those pesky and troublesome denizen’s of the highways, we like to refer to as “4 wheelers”.  Don’t be surprised to find a little fiction every once in a while also.  I have many ideas and dreams rolling around my head, just looking for a place to call home. The one thing I seem to have plenty of is time. The hard part is making valuable use of that commodity.

Thank you for checking this site out, and please come back regularly to see what has changed. Feel free to follow me, by email or RSS feed. Just click the links in the top right corner of the site. I’ll leave you with one of my favorite videos, “Colder Weather” by The Zac Brown Band.

  1. My godfather was a trucker, he lived in Wisconson. I never really knew what his life was like, but I wondered…I’m looking forward to learning more about life on the open road.
